HARVEST V The Montreal International LGBT Theatre Festival

5th edition produced by VILLAGE SCENE PRODUCTIONS October 1 to 18, 2008.

The Harvest theatre festival season returns this year, inviting local, national and international companies and performing artists to enter their submissions of production and projects for consideration by the selection committee for the 5th edition of the Harvest V - The Montreal LGBT International Theatre Festival.

The official categories of acceptance into the festival are... Professional productions: international, national, local and touring; Semi-professional: national and local; Amateur and novice: local only (greater Montreal area) productions. A limited number of productions will be accepted to participate in each of these categories in English and/or in French. If you want to participate and you have a production you want to mount in the festival we invite you to make your submission now.

Please advise us by the deadline: International, national, touring productions, and local productions: March 30. (No submission fee in either category.). Late submissions are accepted in all categories up to April 15. (A non-refundable late-submission fee of 25$ cad applies in all categories.). The final official selection of all productions accepted into the 2008 Harvest will be announced on or before April 27 (officially April 30th). Signed contracts, administartive registration fees, and box office security deposits are due on or before May 15. The preliminary schedule is listed June 1. Deadline to submit preliminary promotional materials is June 1st. The final schedule is posted June 15. Deadline to submit final promotional materials July 30, 2008.

To enter a production or project for selection consideration please forward the following directly to VSP:

*An introduction letter expressing your interest to participate; Include production history and/or a bio/cv if applicable.

*A brief description of the production including details on: The story line, relevance and/or entertainment value and interest to the L.G.B.T. community in the themes of the play. The number of characters and actors on stage and total number of members in your production. Any particular technical requirements, stage or equipment that are necessary for its success.

*A copy of the script or recent draft if a work in progress. VHS tape, DvD, CD and/or photos if available.

*A bank draft or postal money order for the non-refundable late-submission fee (after March 30-before April 15) of 25$ cad/usd (if applicable) payable to Village Scene Productions.

We only accept full productions with a duration of 60 to 120 minutes into the festival. The production must contain LGBT themes or be relevant and/or of interest to the LGBT community, diverse in topic and entertainment value. We assign 1 to 4 performances per production scheduled at our discretion during the festival. For productions from out of town performances can be scheduled in sequence to accommodate you for a limited stay. For local productions, performances are randomly scheduled throughout the entire event.
